Effective July 1, 2021, the Office of Billing and Collections is now the Department of Collections.
➤ What are the responsibilities of the Department of Collections?
The Department of Collections handles:
- Collection of all current and delinquent revenue
- Management of lockbox and third‑party collector contracts
- Printing and mailing personal property and real estate bills
- Cashiering and customer service operations
- Utility Billing
- Bankruptcy account management
➤ What happens if I file for bankruptcy?
Customers who file bankruptcy— including those with an active utility account—will receive a certified notice.
A new utility service must be established within 20 days, and a 25% deposit may be required.
