Petersburg Encourages Residents to Use Petersburg Area Transit to Access Polling Locations

City Manager Aretha R. Ferrell-Benavides reminds voters that Petersburg Area Transit will provide stops at each polling place in the City.  Each polling place has a bus stop located nearby; however, bus operators have been empowered to deviate their routes slightly to get constituents as close to the polls as possible. “I have asked the Director of Mass Transit to allow buses to do whatever it takes to get residents to the polls today,” said Aretha R. Ferrell-Benavides. 

Additionally, if you are a current client of PAT Paratransit Services, upon availability you may be provided door to door services.  To set up an appointment, current paratransit clients may call 804-324-5658. The Director of Mass of Transit Charles Koonce stated, “I am very excited to provide efficient transportation to allow Petersburg Residents to exercise their right to vote.  We have made a list to inform constituents on where to vote and how to get there.”

The last bus leaves the Petersburg Station at 6:15 p.m.; however, if you need a return ride from your polling place you must get on the bus at 5:15 p.m.
