Black History Month is a highly anticipated time in the City of Petersburg. Heading into its 4th year, the City of Petersburg is excited to host the 2018 Black History Month Festival on February 24, 2018 at Petersburg High School from 2pm – 7pm.
“This year’s festival is guaranteed to uniquely impact each participant. We are excited to enlighten, as well as entertain the audience,” said Margo Hardy, the 2018 Festival Chair.
The 2018 festival theme is dedicated to the celebration of African-American contributions to the Community through music, food, and art. This year's festival will feature live performances from Petersburg High School Choir and band, Virginia State University Gospel Chorale, Fort Lee Army Band, Soul 2 Sole Dance Theater, Petersburg Communities, Inc., and a must-see live concert by J. Baxter and the SAUCE Band.
Vendors will be onsite with exclusive merchandise for purchase and the highlighted food vendor is renowned restaurant, Mama J's Kitchen.
