[ARCHIVED] Waterline Breaks - Update

WaterLineBreak

Public Utilities has been notified of waterline leaks at the following locations:

Washington Street and Monument - City forces are assessing the situation and preparing to repair the leak.

Once the repair is made, a boil notice will be issued for the area of Washington Street to Lousia and Culpepper to Gibbons Streets.

A boil notice may also be issued for the following area at the time of the repair:

1010 Hampton:
Halifax and Custer; and
Youngs Road.

Waterline repairs at Halifax Road & Custer Street are complete and water pressure has returned to normal.

As a result, residents in these areas will experience low water pressure for an undetermined amount of time.

We understand the frustration and thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.

Additionally, there has been a water line break to the sprinkler line inside of the Appomattox Regional Governor's School that may cause school to be canceled tomorrow due to clean up and repair.

Due to other issue areas and weather constraints, additional resource teams will be used for repairs to the School.

With tomorrow's temperatures reaching 40 degrees, we anticipate additional breaks resulting from the 35 degree increase in temperatures.

All previously reported leaks are still in queue for repair.

Again, we understand the resident's frustration and ask for your patience as we address these issues.
