City government offices, including City Hall and the City Hall Annex will be closed on Thursday, December 25, Friday, December 26 and Friday, January 1. Offices will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, December 28 and Monday, January 4.
Petersburg Area Transit will be on normal business hours on Thursday, December 24. There will be no transit service on Christmas Day and will resume normal business hours on Saturday, December 26. Transit will be closed on Friday, January 1 and will resume normal business hours on Saturday, January 2.
Petersburg Public Library will be closing at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23 and Thursday, December 31 and the library along with Animal Care and Control (AC&C) office will also be closed on December 25 – 26 and Friday, January 1. AC&C will only be taking emergency calls during these days.
Parks and Leisure Services (PPLS) main office will also be closed December 24 - 25. In addition, all youth and senior programs are closed Monday, December 18 through Friday, January 1. All programs will resume on Monday, January 4 at its regular scheduled times.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course will have the following holiday schedule:
Thursday, December 24: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, December 25: Closed
Saturday, December 26 & Sunday, December 27: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
New Year Holidays: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Petersburg Museums will be closed on December 24 – 25 and January. Facilities will reopen on Saturday, December 26 and will remain open for the weekend. Visitor’s Centers, including Carson, open at 9 a.m. and museums open at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) residential recycling and trash collections will be delayed one day in observance of the Christmas holiday. Residential trash collection Monday through Thursday will be on regular schedule. There will be no collections on Christmas Day. All Friday trash collection services will take place on Saturday, December 26.
