BACKGROUND:
As a part of Petersburg’s recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention month, the Petersburg Department of Social Services and Family Lifeline will plant a pinwheel garden at the Department of Social Services to remind the community of the need for their involvement in our efforts to protect our children. We will also host a reception promoting some of Petersburg’s local programs working to strengthen families and promote positive parenting for our children. Come and learn why blue ribbons are used as a symbol to promote awareness of child abuse and neglect and the importance of pinwheels in our campaign. Learn more about local programs that are helping families, and spread the word to those in the community who might be in need of these services.
