Through his museum, a treasure trove of artifacts that showcases over 200 years of Black History, he shared his passion and expertise of Black History and the Civil War, enthralling visitors with his stories and intricate knowledge. Through his consistent attendance at City Council meetings and his steadfast work in the community, he showed his unwavering commitment to the betterment of the city and our citizens. We offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the citizens of Petersburg at this sad time. We will eternally be grateful for the life of Mr. Stewart, may he now rest in peace.
