[ARCHIVED] Freedom Support Centers Hosts Veteran Open Door Service Day

The Petersburg Freedom Support Center and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 47 will hosts a Veteran Open Door Service Day on Saturday, November 1 to better assist clients seeking services during non-traditional hours of operation. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Center located at 32 W. Washington Street.

“The Freedom Support Center has become a true beacon of change and opportunity in the Petersburg community,” comments Tara Anderson, Executive Director. “We are excited to have numerous organizations available during this Service Day to further meet the needs of the community and we look forward to hosting this event on a regular basis in the future.”

Services that will be offered will include assistance with claim filing, document retrieval, homeless prevention, housing support, education advisement, financial counseling, banking, job readiness, resume building, career counseling and financial aid advice. This free event is open to all area veterans. Appointments are not necessary.

The Petersburg Freedom Support Center normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am. to 5 p.m. For additional information, please call (804) 451-0205.
