Power Outage Closes Two Government Buildings in Petersburg

Petersburg City Hall, located at 135 N. Union Street, and Petersburg Billing & Collections, located at 144 N. Sycamore Street, will be closed on Friday, December 16 due to a power outage. All city employees with offices in the two buildings will work from home. Departments closed include:
City Manager’s Office
City Assessor

City Attorney

City Treasurer

Commissioner of the Revenue

Clerk of Council
Finance

Purchasing

Billing & Collections.

 

Heavy rain on Thursday caused a water leak into the main circuit box at 144 N. Sycamore Street. Power to the building has been shut off until repairs can be made. All internet services are down at City Hall because of the power outage.

 

Repairs are expected to be completed over the weekend.
