Petersburg Police Open Sub-Station
The Petersburg Bureau of Police in partnership with Market Street Lofts is opening a police sub-station inside the Lofts located at 201 Hinton Street. This station will be used by police officers patrolling the downtown area and is a step forward in expanding community policing. There will be no charge to the City for the Police sub-station.
“Data indicates that community-oriented policing does reduce crime,” said Police Chief Travis Christian. “This sub-station will help Petersburg police continue to build strong and trusting relationships throughout City neighborhoods, deterring crimes.”
Market Street Lofts, owned by Thalhimer Realty Partners, opened in January 2022. The building contains 106 studio apartments and amenities.
“We are grateful for this new partnership with Petersburg Police. This initiative is in line with our goals to maintain a high-end living experience for our residents and to connect with the community,” said Drew Wiltshire, Principal.
There will be an official ribbon-cutting at the new sub-station on Friday, August 19 at 10:30am.
