City of Petersburg Government offices will close on Friday, January 21 because of snow and freezing temperatures. All non-essential employees will work from home. Essential employees will report to work. If any city worker is unsure of their status, please contact your supervisor or department head.
There will be a 2-hour delay in bus service in the City on Friday.
Petersburg Public Works and Utilities Snow Response Team will be monitoring road conditions until the winter storm passes and will treat roads as needed.
Citizens should report poor road conditions or fallen trees blocking roads to the Public Works-Street Operations Division at (804) 733-2415.
Police and Fire will also be monitoring road conditions during the winter storm.
The City is asking citizens to stay off the roads during the storm if possible. Road crews are better able to cover streets with less traffic. Residents are also asked to use off-street parking when available.
