Petersburg Deputy City Manager Tangela Innis has promoted Nikesha Williams to the position of Director of Neighborhood Services. Ms. Williams has served as the City of Petersburg Plans Reviewer in the Neighborhood Services Department for the past 2.5 years.
“Ms. Williams brings over 18 years of experience in the construction and building compliance industry to Petersburg,” explained Tangela Innis, Deputy City Manager. “She has served as a valuable leader and member of the Neighborhood Services team and is committed to partner better with the community to preserve, improve and connect with the needs of our neighborhoods. Williams was chosen from a large pool of candidates based on her experience, professionalism and leadership skills.”
Ms. Williams was born in Petersburg. She has an extensive career in naval nuclear design and inspection, quality assurance and contract oversight. Williams earned a degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), and several certifications in logistics. She is a certified residential plans examiner.

The Department of Neighborhood Services has 15 employees with an annual budget of $828,000.
