On Tuesday the Coastal Plain League announced that Generals and Trinity University stand out Jeremy Wolf has been named to this year’s All CPL First Team.
A standout player for the Petersburg Generals this summer, Jeremy batted .331 with 33 RBIs in 47 games. Jeremy also lead the Coastal Plain League in doubles (21) three shy of breaking the league record of 23. Wolf also led the Generals in many statistical categories including RBIs (33), Runs (32), and hits (58).
Jeremy’s sensational play early on allowed him to be named as a starting outfielder for the East team and the sole General in this year’s All-Star Game in Morehead City, NC. During his first appearance at the plate Wolf hit a solo homer for the East team to tie the ballgame; he finished the night 1 for 1 with a solo homerun and a RBI.
With Jeremy’s post season honor that makes him the third Generals player to make the All CPL First Team. He joins Alex Caravella (Generals LHP ’12) and Nick Christopher (Generals, OF ’13).
About the Coastal Plain League
The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had nearly 1,200 alumni drafted and 66 alums – including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander – make their Major League debut thus far; while another notable alum – Russell Wilson – won Super Bowl XLVIII.
