The City of Petersburg announces the 2020 Holiday Season Giving Initiative - "Feed the Need with a Taste of Petersburg." Through Feed the Need, the City will partner with local restaurants and/or catering services to purchase pre-packaged meals to be delivered to Petersburg residents during the Thanksgiving holiday. The goal of this program is to provide meals to Petersburg residents who've been affected by COVID-19 while simultaneously providing economic stimulus to local restaurants and their employees.
Through this initiative, 10-20 selected local restaurants and/or local caterers will partner with the City of Petersburg to prepare approximately (7,000) seven thousand individually packaged, fresh meals. These meals will be delivered over a four day period (November 24, 25, 27, 28) to Petersburg families who may be experiencing food insecurity due to COVID-19. This program will be implemented using funding from the CARES ACT.
For local restaurants and/or caterers to be considered for this program, they must email a completed W-9 form, workman’s compensation insurance certificate, and health department certificate to petersburgfellows@petersburg-va.org.
This application will officially close on November 13, 2020 at 12pm.
