[ARCHIVED] City Invites Public to Community Meetings for Re-Branding Campaign

Petersurg City Council and the City Manager have made it a steadfast goal to rebrand and improve the perceptions of the City of Petersburg. Johnson, Inc. has been selected as the marketing firm to develop an effective brand that will enhance the image of Petersburg.

“One of the priority goals of this Administration is to market the city of Petersburg to its fullest potential.” comments City Council Mayor, Brian Moore. “I urge the community members to give us their honest opinions and feedback, so we can position ourselves as a top destination along the East Coast.”

The Petersburg community is invited to participate in a series of community focus groups and a town hall to provide input. Please plan to attend one of the following sessions on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Petersburg Library located at 201 W. Washington St.
• 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

On Saturday, September 23, 2014, City Council and the City Manager will host a Community Town Hall Meeting at the Union Train Station (103 River Street) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Please call (804) 644-8515 if you plan to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

“As we continue to move our great city, it is important to engage our community from the beginning to capture their current perceptions of the city,” said City Manager, William E. Johnson, III. “This is a major undertaking that we as a municipality cannot do alone, so we rely on the residents to assist with developing a winning brand for Petersburg.”
