City of Petersburg Government Offices 

Closed for Winter Holiday


Petersburg, Va: City government offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th, Wednesday, December 25th, and Wednesday, January 1st in observance of the Winter Holiday. Closed offices include: City Hall, City Hall Annex, Parks & Leisure Services, Blandford Cemetery Records Office, Petersburg Freedom Support Center, and Petersburg Public Library.


Dogwood Trace Golf Course will close at 3:00pm on Tuesday, December 24th and reopen during their normal business hours on Wednesday, December 26th. Dogwood Trace will remain open during normal business hours on December 31st and January 1st.


Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) Administrative offices and customer service will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th and Wednesday, December 25th.

PAT Bus service (including Para-Transit) will begin its last route one hour earlier than regularly scheduled on Tuesday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 31st


There will be no route service on Wednesday, December 25th or Wednesday, January 1st. Greyhound office will close at 4:30pm on Tuesday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 31st. For questions on December 24th or December 31st call 804-733-2511. View Transit Routes HERE


CVWMA’s Wednesday through Friday residential recycling and residential trash collections will be on a one-day delay December 25-27 and January 1-3. There will be no collections on Wednesday, December 25th and Wednesday, January 1st. Recycling accepted items from holiday celebrations is encouraged! Please breakdown gift boxes and cardboard.


BLUE WEDNESDAY- BLUE FRIDAY residential recycling collections the week of December 25-27 will be on a one-day delay. In addition, Wednesday through Friday residential trash customers in Colonial Heights and Petersburg will have a one-day delay. All Friday collections will take place on Saturday.


RED WEDNESDAY-RED FRIDAY residential recycling collections January 1-3 will be on a one-day delay. In addition, Wednesday through Friday residential trash customers in Colonial Heights and Petersburg will have a one-day delay. All Friday collections will take place on Saturday.
