Petersburg Prepared for Winter Storm
The Petersburg Emergency Management team monitors weather conditions and is prepared for rapidly dropping temperatures this weekend. A strong burst of Arctic air with high winds, rain, ice, and snow is forecast to move across the region on Sunday night and Monday morning. Public Works Road crews will be on call this weekend to prepare to treat City streets. Bridges and primary roads will be treated first as needed. Police and Fire will also monitor road conditions on Sunday night and Monday.
The City asks citizens to stay off the roads during the storm if possible. With less traffic, road crews can better cover the streets. Residents are also asked to use off-street parking when available.
Any power outages should be reported to Dominion Energy at 1-866-366-4357. As always, in an emergency, call 911.
City government offices are scheduled to open at regular hours at this time.
Petersburg will post updated information on the City website @ www.petersburg-va.org,
