Traffic Alert – Lafayette Street Bridge Closed
Lafayette Street, between High and Hinton Streets, is closed until further notice. There are structural issues with the bridge that crosses Brickhouse Run stream. The historic masonry arch style bridge is failing due to age (120 years old), the erosion of soil surrounding the bridge foundation, and loss of stone and brick structural components.
The City has engineers working to determine the damage and repairs needed. Detours are in place.
