Street Closings, Restrictions for the Petersburg Half Marathon & 5k 
 

Road closures begin this Saturday 

The City of Petersburg will be closing the following streets for Saturday's Petersburg Half Marathon & 5k races. To accommodate the runners, spectators, street closings and parking restrictions, a process of gradual road closures along Sycamore Street, South Crater Street, Johnson Road and River Street will begin the morning of Saturday, April 22 from 6:00 AM until noon. Please be advised parking on some streets along route is also prohibited. Signs have been posted in these areas. A schedule of road closures follows. 


The Petersburg Half Marathon and 5K will begin at 6:30 a.m. in Old Towne. The start of the half marathon will be at 7 a.m. leaving from River Street. 

Following are the closings scheduled from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22.

  • Bollingbrook Street at N. Old Church Street
  • Bollingbrook Street at Irving Street
  • Bollingbrook Street at Miller Street
  • E. Washington Street at Culpepper Avenue
  • E. Washington Street at Monument Avenue
  • E. Washington Street at Gibbons Avenue
  • E. Washington Street at Henrico Street
  • E. Washington Street at Ash Street
  • E. Washington Street at Mecklenburg Street
  • S. Crater Road at Stratford Avenue
  • W. Washington Street at Davis Street
  • W. Washington Street at Lafayette Street
  • W. Washington Street at Hazel Street
  • W. Washington Street at N. Jones Street
  • Battersea Street at Hinton Street
  • Battersea Street at Commerce Street
  • Upper Appomattox Street at Bluefield Street
  • W. High Street at N. South Street
  • W. High Street at N. Jones Street
  • W. High Street at Hurt Street
  • W. High Street at Lafayette Street
  • W. High Street at Cross Street
  • W. High Street at N. Davis Street
