[ARCHIVED] City of Petersburg Welcomes New Downtown Trolley


Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) proudly welcomes the new 'Downtown Trolley' to its fleet of fixed route services. The new route will provide exclusive bus service for Downtown Petersburg with additional service also provided to Ettrick/Virginia State University and Southpark Mall.

"The City of Petersburg is very excited about having a trolley here in Petersburg, it adds to the to ambience we have created for downtown Petersburg", says William E. Johnson III.

The addition of the Trolley will assist in making downtown a more accessible destination to the Tri-Cities patrons. The Downtown Trolley service will run Monday through Saturday from 7:45 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. The fare for the downtown trolley is $1.75 and $0.85 half fare for senior patrons and those with disabilities. All PAT passes will be accepted on the Downtown Trolley.

PAT General Manager, Dironna Moore Belton adds that the Trolley will also provide transportation for Friday for the Arts, which runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every month on the second Friday.
